Yamunotri Dham temple is situated in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. yamunotri is the place from where the Yamuna rises out.

The temple is situated at an elevation of 3235 meters above sea level.

A Hindu god Yamuna with Hindu god yam is situated in the temple.

Yam is considered to be the big brother of Hindu goddess Yamuna.

the other two main attractions of Yamunotri are hot water sources, Surya Kund, and Gauri Kund.

The Yamunotri temple was constructed by Maharaja Partap shah of Tehri Garhwal in the 19th century.
